ET Level: Intermediate Grades: K-5 |
What does the world look like to an elementary student? How can technology make the study of a foreign country become tangible such even the youngest students can gain an understanding of the geography, culture, and ecosystems present on a continent different from their own? How do you scaffold skills and concepts so that children can serve as subject matter experts and demonstrate research, design, and presentation skills? How can iPads and other iOS devices revolutionize, streamline, and enhance this process? Come explore project ideas, classroom strategies, and apps to help elementary students gain a greater understanding of the world around them. Explore the creation of virtual field trips, video tours, audio recordings, and other interdisciplinary ideas that leverage the features inherent in the iPad that support learning - flexibility, mobility, accessibility, and engagement - as well as key apps. Participants leave with tangible examples, experience using their devices, and assessment ideas. |
