Picture the last time you doodled on your notebook paper. We bet you were in a class, at a workshop/conference, or at a staff meeting. Whether you realize it or not that doodling was helping to keep you focused and even helping you remember what you were learning about. Consider your students . . . what are they doing during your lessons? Are you ready to change the way you and your students take notes? How about the way you and your students present information? Are you not sure how or where to start? If so, this session is for you! Join us to continue your journey with or become part of #sketchEDnh (a professional development opportunity centered around sketchnoting). In this hands on learning experience, work on sketching and creating your visual vocabulary while also exploring how to use sketchnoting in your classroom with students. Explore various tools to sketch and think of ways to digitally organize sketches. This workshop is offered in both BYOD and MITI formats. The registration fee for the MITI format includes the cost of the workshop AND the device/resources. The BYOD format includes only the cost of the workshop, the attendee is solely responsible for securing the required resources listed on the website.
Equipment needed: MITI workshop includes a Rocketbook and pens. The specific model and accessories included will be posted by early October on the conference website at www.nhcmtc.org. These books are also included: How to Sketchnote: A Step-by-Step Manual for Teachers & Students by Sylvia Duckworth and The Conference Companion: Sketchnotes, Doodles, & Creative Play for Teaching and Learning by Becky Green. BYOD registration fee requires that you bring your own Rocketbook and pens as specified on the website. How are you working creative thinking or design thinking into your instruction? Have you considered sketchnoting? Sketchnoting is a tool that we can use with students to inspire creative thinking and help them work toward creative new, innovative products. During this session, you will begin sketching and check out student work that has increased collaboration and creativity. We will also work in some time to reflect on some of the ideas learned during the day!
