*  Level: Beginner Grades: K-5, 6-8, 9-12, All	The ideas in this session will benefit you if you're already on your way toward a gradeless classroom or if you just want to start grading less and enhance your feedback. Indeed even if you're just curious and want to push your thinking about what fewer grades and authentic assessment can look like, this session has something for you. In this session, participants will learn about technology tools and resources to transform your letter and number grades into a student centered, feedback focused environment. We will explore how a transition to a gradeless classroom might go from piloting a single gradeless unit to ditching the letter and number system entirely. Participants will also learn and share specific strategies for going gradeless or grading less even if your district has strict grading requirements. Is going gradeless in today's world revolutionary? Perhaps. Crazy? Some might say so. Impossible? Only if you don't try. Come see that you aren't the only one who wishes they could throw out the grades and focus on feedback and learn how to put those revolutionary and transformative ideas into action.
BDWe02-HL 2019 Session	The Great Digital Escape: Inquiry & Google Forms Eric Bird, Technology Integrator, Salem School District, NH, and Aurora Merry, Salem High School, NH
*  Level: Beginner Grades: K-5, 6-8, 9-12	Learn how to create engaging hands-on breakout activities with a digital component that can be used with any subject or grade level. Join us for this fun and collaborative activity to solve a mystery, discover how this technique has been successfully implemented in a high school forensics course, and learn how to create your own activity for the classroom. Utilizing Google Forms and analysing evidence left behind at the scene, attendees will race to piece together clues and complete activities, ultimately solving the mystery. With the popularity of shows like CSI, NCIS, Bones, and Dexter, forensic science is the new "hot topic" high school course. See how technology and Google Forms have been integrated to help students review and apply content knowledge throughout the course. No previous experience with forensic science, Google Forms, or specific grade-level teaching is required to participate in this engaging activity. Please bring a computer or cell phone to fully participate in the activity. Eric Bird is a Technology Integrator in Salem, NH with a background of 25 years in education as a classroom teacher, nonprofit director, professional presenter, and technology specialist. Aurora Merry is a science educator who has taught a variety of levels and courses at Salem High School in Salem, NH for close to 20 years. Equipment needed: Any device with a web-based browser.

*  Level: Intermediate Grades: All Cost: $455, $130	The Google Educator Certifications showcase your knowledge and application of innovative tools and techniques to engage learners and promote a 21st century collaborative learning environment. The Google Certified Educator Level 1 Boot Camp prepares you to take Google's exam by providing pedagogically sound ideas for the use of G Suite in the classroom. Complimenting Google for Education Fundamentals training, you actively work through authentic learning scenarios and secure new ideas for using tools across the suite including Google Classroom, Forms, Docs, Sheets, Sites, Slides, YouTube, and more! This workshop is offered in both BYOD and MITI formats. The registration fee for the MITI format includes the cost of the workshop AND the device/resources. This is the last notebook you will ever need! Rocketbook Everlast is easily erased and can be reused over and over again. Explore classroom applications and PDF tools and tricks to leverage the use of your documents after uploading. This workshop is offered in both BYOD and MITI formats. The registration fee for the MITI format includes the cost of the workshop AND the device/resources. The BYOD format includes only the cost of the workshop, the attendee is solely responsible for securing the required resources listed on the website. Play is really the work of childhood."- Fred Rogers. STEAM toys are becoming a huge part of the toy market and many toys are being developed for all age-levels to provide opportunities to explore STEAM. Learn about several of the new products out there which encourage learning through exploration and play. Find your inner child and play with some of our own STEAM toys that can be used in classrooms in any subject area. These toys are tools in a child's world and open opportunities for STEAM exploration and skill building. This workshop is offered in both BYOD and MITI formats. The registration fee for the MITI format includes the cost of the workshop AND the device/resources. The BYOD format includes only the cost of the workshop, the attendee is solely responsible for securing the required resources listed on the website. Sketchnoting is a tool that we can use with students to inspire creative thinking and help them work toward creative new, innovative products. During this session, you will begin sketching and check out student work that has increased collaboration and creativity. We will also work in some time to reflect on some of the ideas learned during the day!

EDPuzzle allows teachers to select, edit, and embed questions into videos from YouTube, Khan Academy, LearnZillion, etc. This session provides tutorials for: Setting up your EdPuzzle Class, Integrating EdPuzzle with Google Classroom, Embedding assessments into a video, and Accessing data analytics for your students.

*  Level: Beginner Grades: K-5, 6-8, 9-12  Extensions	Podcasts may be a nice way to pass the time on your commute, but they have even more power in the classroom. Participants in this session will learn how to raise student voices with the power of podcasting. We will explore free tools to record and edit podcasts so your students thinking and creativity can shine. Participants will also discover how listening to podcasts can enrich their teaching and learning. Podcasting works for every subject and every student. Come see how even the most shy and introverted students can find their voice with the power of a podcast.
