Personalizing Education Through Use of Time with Pelham SD Stephen Rando, MyFlexLearning

Level: Beginner Grades: 6-8, 9-12, All  Extensions

Join us for a one-on-one discussion with Dr. Sarah Marandos, Ed.D., Assistant Superintendent in Pelham School District and Stephen Rando, co-founder of MyFlexLearning. We'll discuss the successful high school Advisory Program. Pelham High School is at the forefront of personalizing education through the use of time. We'll discuss how Pelham created the Advisory Program, what they offer, how they manage the time and what they've learned along the way. Pelham High School students attend a daily advisory period. During this time, students meet with their advisor, who is the student's mentor regarding academic and personal issues. Advisory provides students with the opportunity to meet with their teachers, complete assignments and/or assessments, develop their social/emotional learning skills or participate in enrichment activities. Additionally, if a student is experiencing academic difficulty, the student may be assigned to meet with a teacher or a staff member during this time. About MyFlexLearning: MyFlexLearning is a flexible scheduling platform for personalized daily offerings. Schools use MyFlexLearning to manage ad-hoc intervention, enrichment, SEL opportunities and counselor appointments.
